Premiership League Prediction Competition: Points System
Here is how the points system works:
For each team that you get in the correct place you will win 5 points. If you are one place out you get 3 points. If you are two places out you get two points and for three places out you get 1 point. For each team if you are more than 3 places out you will get no points for that team.
| Places out from actual premiership table | Number of points accrued (per team) |
|---|---|
| 0 | 5 |
| 1 | 3 |
| 2 | 2 |
| 3 | 1 |
| >3 | 0 |
There are also bonus points to be won. For correctly identifying the league winners you will receive an extra 5 points and you get an additional 2 points for each team that you correctly predict will be relegated. If you correctly predict all 3 teams to go down you will receive 10 bonus points (including the 2 for each team). Bonus points are added to your standard points.
| Correct Prediction | Number of bonus points |
|---|---|
| League winners | 5 |
| Correctly predicting a relegated team | 2 (per team) |
| Correctly predicting all three relegated teams | 10 |
Therefore the greatest number of points that you can win is:
20 x 5 = 100 (for correctly predicting each team)
+ 10 (for correctly predicting the league winners)
+ 10 (for correctly predicting the three teams for relegation)
= 120 points
