  extended byjava.awt.Component
      extended byjava.awt.Container
          extended byjavax.swing.JComponent
              extended byjavax.swing.JLabel
                  extended bydesigntools.CircuitComponent
All Implemented Interfaces:
javax.accessibility.Accessible, java.awt.image.ImageObserver, java.awt.MenuContainer, java.io.Serializable, javax.swing.SwingConstants

public class CircuitComponent

Constructor Detail

CircuitComponent

public CircuitComponent(int type)
Constructor sets the type and image accordingly

Parameters:
type - A type value to represent the component eg. CircuitComponent.AND

CircuitComponent

public CircuitComponent(java.lang.String label)
Create a label component

Parameters:
label - Label Text
Method Detail

getImageIcon

public static java.lang.String getImageIcon(int componentType)
Parameters:
componentType - An integer which represents the component type eg. CircuitComponent.NOT
Returns:
The component's image filename

getToolbarIcon

public static java.lang.String getToolbarIcon(int componentType)
Parameters:
componentType - An integer which represents the component type eg. CircuitComponent.NOT
Returns:
The filename for a smaller component image suitable for entry into the toolbar

getType

public int getType()
Returns:
The component type

getInputLocations

public java.awt.Point[] getInputLocations()
Returns:
an array of positions for each input pin of the component

getOutputLocation

public java.awt.Point getOutputLocation()
Returns:
The location of the component output

connectInput

public void connectInput(CircuitComponent inComponent)
Add the input component to the list of input components for the chip

Parameters:
inComponent - The component wired to this component's input pin

disconnectInput

public void disconnectInput(CircuitComponent inComponent)
Removes component from the list of input components for the chip

Parameters:
inComponent - The component disconnected from this component's input pin

getConnectedInputs

public java.util.ArrayList getConnectedInputs()
Returns:
The list of components connected to this component's inputs

setSelected

public void setSelected(boolean selected)
Shows the component as having been hightlighted

Parameters:
selected - True if selecting component, false if unselecting

updateText

public void updateText()
Called if the rename menu item is clicked

simulate

public boolean simulate()
Returns:
its logic value based on the logic value of all inputs

setState

public void setState(boolean digitalValue)
Sets the component's digital state. Used to set input pin values prior to simulating the circuit for each input combination to create the chip file. Note that it is only sensible to call this procedure for input pins.

Parameters:
digitalValue - The value to set
